Purolator International President John T. Costanzo Presents On “Intersection of Transportation and Trade Compliance” At TransComp Exhibition
The seminar “The Intersection of Transportation and Trade Compliance – A 360 Degree Look At Current Issues” — a co-presentation of John T. Costanzo, President, Purolator International, subsidiary of Canada’s leading integrated parcel and freight services provider, Purolator Inc., and attorney James A. Losey, Partner in the International Trade & Customs Practice Group at Thompson Hine — was a highlight of last month’s TransComp Exhibition held in Atlanta by The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) attended by over 2,000 industry professionals.
“Purolator International is a transportation provider directly involved with trade compliance on import/export regulations of origin and destination countries,” said NITL President & CEO Bruce J. Carlton. “John Costanzo was a fascinating presenter, able to share his in-depth knowledge with attendees.”
In addition to questions and answers relative to import and customs that impact shippers, carriers and intermediaries, Mr. Costanzo was uniquely able to share perspective on the benefits resulting from agreements such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (USMCA), which has dramatically increased trade between the United States and Canada.
“Purolator International provides logistics services to, from and within Canada and is growing its presence across the U.S.,” said John Costanzo. “The TransComp Exhibition was a wonderful opportunity to meet many colleagues in the industry and to present with the very astute Jim Losey on transportation, trade, controls and sanctions.”
John Costanzo addressed an audience of senior-level industry leaders and executives representing freight transportation decision-makers, from shippers and transportation companies to equipment technology and service providers.
Purolator International, which is in the midst of an aggressive expansion, has opened 9 U.S. branch locations in 2011, with presence in 18 of the top 20 U.S. markets for trade with Canada. Its customers in aviation, technology, energy, and consumer goods work closely with Purolator for its unparalleled expertise in cross border trade, extensive Canadian distribution network and ability to handle complexities in a global market.
NITL’s TransComp Exhibition is the transportation industry’s leading trade exposition, where companies benefit from workshops and showcase the latest innovations in information technology applications and management tools for transportation and distribution operations.
